This is more than just a class — it's a behind-the-scenes look at how I actually make and sell my handmade batik clothing.

If you’re curious about how batik works, want to try it yourself, or just love seeing real artists at work, you’ll feel right at home here.

I’ve been doing this since 1989 — from Grateful Dead parking lots to building my own clothing brand. And now, I’m inviting you into the studio with me.

OMG!!!!! Thanks to this class this week I truly understood about what a brush should feel like because the ones I have been using in a word-"sucked"! Well I FOUND one that works! I get it now and I know what to look for. I got this one at My local art store, it says natural bristles but not what. They had synthetic everything from hog to black squirrel! Squirrel??? Really! Anyway, thank you, thank, thank you!!!! So happy I could just cry! Off to paint! Thank you SO much Victoria!!!!!

Ilove being your apprentice and learning by watching and listening to YOU. It is all those little details we need and are greatly appreciated by me. I seriously want to take this batiking into selling and marketing... I have experience with procion dyes and tie dying. I am an artist and painter...this is just flowing with me big time. I did Dead concerts back in the day, I am 49 now...l just relate to you, like, a lot...just want you 2 know, I really am thankful for all your efforts. Keep flowin.

This class has taught me so much about batik and how procion dye works.....now confident to branch out and experiment....did these yesterday and wearing them out today.....no bees wax but used what we have been taught about the dying process......next I am going to try to combine the two methods......J

Hi! I lived in Puerto Rico for 50 years, now I live in Massachusetts, in my country of origin there are few who paint batik, I tried for years and it did not come out, I damaged tshirt for many, until I gave up. Thank God I got this page to learn and perfect the technique.

I bought a few batik books on amazon and not thrilled at all with them. You have taught us so many valuable things. I was mostly looking for design ideas, but they were not worth it. I need to send them back!
